"One day while riding home from a long trip, this song started playing in my head over and over. My Aunt had just passed away not long before that and I was thinking of her. There are a lot of songs out there written from the perspective of the person who lost a loved one but not many written from ther perspective of the one who passed on. I felt that she wouldn't have wanted people to cry for her as she was a devout Christian and knew where she was going. She knew there would be no tears there so she wouldn't have wanted tears here either.
I told myself that, if I still remembered this when I got home, I would write it down and work on the music. I actually wrote the lyrics in 1994 and worked out the guitar parts; however, I didn't record it until the Reflections album.
